Made in the Prairies: Daryl Perry and the craftsmanship behind Perry Guitars

Winnipeg-based luthier Daryl Perry has been hand-crafting classical guitars for 30 years. He doesn’t use power tools for the simple reason that he doesn’t believe one could fully understand the materials without interacting with them using hands and hand tools.

His work, inspired heavily by tradition, has earned him a number of awards. In 1994, two of his guitars were displayed at The Canadian Museum of Civilization in Hull, Quebec.

Janelle and Jeremie Wookey explore his ideas, craftsmanship, and his workplace in this exclusive video.
