Here is a Winnipeg organization that I didn’t know existed, but am glad to have found out about. The Canadian Muslim Women’s Institute provides wonderful assistance and programs to Muslim women who have newly immigrated. Programs and groups who empower people and give them opportunities to learn and grow are so important to our community, so I applaud their efforts. Winnipeg is a multi-cultural city, which is something I love about it. A group like CMWI helps keep it that way!
“The Canadian Muslim Women’s Institute (CMWI) is a Winnipeg-based non-profit community organization that is dedicated to the economic, social and spiritual empowerment of women. Since its founding in 2006, CMWI has continued to grow and expand its programs, especially its services for newcomer women to Canada.
Some of CMWI’s programs and services include: English conversation classes, recreational and educational classes, social events, community pantry, referrals and the Sewfair social enterprise.
