Well, I’m taking a leap of faith on this one. I have no way of verifying that this was made in 1937. I didn’t think there was colour film in 1937. I didn’t think there was colour anything. I just thought the whole world was black and white until the great colour revolution of the 60’s when drugs and rock and roll unleashed a rainbow of colour over the planet.
This video is pretty simple. It’s a family, on holiday, in Gimli, Manitoba, playing croquet, going to the beach to swim, and crawling on hands and knees into some kind of a teepee, among other things. It’s a pretty typical home movie I suppose, but it’s the (possible) age of the film that makes it interesting. And it has a lovely little soundtrack.
