There is no doubt, moving to a new country, into a new culture is a daunting task. It’s a time of excitement, but it’s also a challenge to try and set oneself up, finding housing, work, language education, and friends. That’s where the New Canadian Friendship Centre in Calgary, Alberta comes in.
According to their website (www.ncfcentre.com), “Welcome to Canada, a wonderful mosaic of ethnic groups, languages and cultures. At the New Canadian Friendship Centre, we are pleased that you have made Calgary your home, and we want to help you make new friends and discover the opportunities waiting for you here. We also want to help you learn about the language, customs, services and laws in Calgary. Whether you are a new immigrant, a temporary foreign worker, an international student, or a long-time Canadian resident, we invite you to join us at the New Canadian Friendship Centre for any of our programs and services.”
The Centre is having their Grand Opening on May 11th from 10am to 5pm at 5401 Temple Drive NE, Calgary. There will be snacks, entertainment, tours and a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11am.
